Get paid to participate in our Culinary Development Program! Universal Orlando Resort is offering a Culinary development program for Team Members hired as an entry level cook in one of our themed casual restaurants. This could be the career opportunity that you’ve been waiting for – can you handle the heat?
This exciting program is designed to teach you all the Culinary skills you’ll need to be a rockstar in the kitchen. Enjoy one-on-one mentoring from our world-class Chefs, and additional classroom training and development from our team of experts. No experience is necessary to be a part of this program.
You will begin as a Line Production Cook and will receive all the benefits of Level One of the Culinary Development Program. Level One will provide you with hands on experience and all the knowledge you need to be successful in your first Culinary job.
Level One – Fundamentals of Cooking
- Orientation & Onboarding
- Basics of food prep
- Entry-level cooking of a variety of menu items
- Consistent performance feedback
- Attend follow-up meetings with your Instructor
- Opportunities to advance to Level Two (Advanced Restaurant Training) and Three (Leadership Training)*

Chef Henry – Sous Chef
Chef Henry applied to Universal Studios Florida in 1990 just months before the grand opening as he felt it was a place where he could put his love of cooking and his front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant experience to good use. He had been part of an opening team previously at a large hotel in Central Florida and was prepared to do that again when hired as a First Cook for the Production Kitchen.
His background and expertise as a saucier is where he has dedicated many years of his career and those talents were put into play during the park opening process. Chef Henry enjoyed giving input and experimenting with different recipes as he and senior culinary leaders targeted which sauces and stews would be used in dishes served across the resort. In addition to his career growth, Chef Henry has seen the resort expand as well as the size of his team to nearly double in number from when he started in 1990. He was also selected to be part of the culinary team that helped to open Universal Studios Japan.

Chef Henry considers one of his greatest successes to be the longevity and high engagement of his team. Building a personal relationship with each Team Member is important to him and has allowed him to stay in tune with their needs.
