Internship – Consumer Insights-Systems (Summer 2020)

Summer Semester: Internship dates are approximately from May 2020 – August 2020.

JOB SUMMARY: The intern will have the opportunity to provide support and complete a project with the CI Systems Team. The intern will learn how to extract survey data out of a source system, clean data using the Alteryx data transformation platform, and product visualizations in the Tableau reporting platform to help understand research results. In addition, the intern will gain business knowledge on how primary research in business is conducted, specifically in the theme park environment.


  • Creates a new report for clients based on 2019 event data.
  • Learns to clean survey data utilizing Alteryx workflows.
  • Visualizes survey data utilizing Tableau dashboards.
  • Performs quality testing using Alteryx workflows, Tableau workbooks, and reports for accuracy.
  • Navigates the Qualtrics survey platform for data pulls and survey validation.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Business Analytics, Informatics, Finance, Computer Science.
  • Require coursework completed: Basic SQL and Basic Database Structures.
  • Preferred coursework completed: Statistics.

Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.

Preferable skills for success in role includes but not limited to:

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.
