JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for exploring, identifying, and evaluating market and customer-based growth, process, and development opportunities for the business. Develop strategic models to evaluate opportunities and to determine optimal resource allocation.  Integrate strategy with stakeholders across the organization to help ensure market and customer insights are leveraged to build and execute targeted sales and marketing plans against business objectives.



  • Lead the development, preparation, and consolidation of strategic analyses of Universal Orlando’s Marketing and Sales initiatives to optimize resource allocation (financial, human, and collateral resources) based on senior leadership direction.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for short- and long-term growth, including tracking how markets and segments are evolving, involving brand, product and service opportunities, and analyzing external marketing trends as well as competitive actions.
  • Identify and create metrics and models to allow for comparison of competing opportunities and ensure alignment with overall brand and segment strategies.
  • Assess new business opportunities through researching and analyzing both internal and publicly available information, including competitive intelligence, and make recommendations.


  • Generate actionable knowledge-driven insights and analysis and proactively share with marketing and sales stakeholders.
  • Develop tracking and measurement plan with recommendations for performance management.
  • Support the annual planning and budgeting process for Marketing & Sales.


  • Conduct analysis of competitive, market performance, and trends relevant to Universal Orlando strategies, products and services
  • Develop tracking and measurement plan with recommendations for performance management.


  • Assist in the performance of other special duties and projects as needed in support of organizational goals.

Performance Metrics (TBD on annual basis)

  • Strategic and Financial performance measures, OCF, Ticket Sales, Attendance, Revenue, Hotel Room Nights, TSAT

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required. MBA strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of progressive, relevant channel, market and customer-based strategic planning experience preferably in support of marketing and sales functions in the consumer entertainment, travel or amusement park industry. 

  • Experience developing business plans, business cases, and presenting them to senior-level executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects with significant and far-ranging impact on the performance of the business in both the short- and long-term as well as requiring significant financial and resource investments
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with significant and far-ranging impact on the performance of the business requiring significant financial and resource investments.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses and recommendations in a clear, concise and persuasive manner.
  • Self-starter with strong project management skills who practices an ownership mindset and is able to think beyond scope for new opportunities for the team to add value to projects.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional expertise in diverse fields such as marketing, strategy, finance, operations, etc. and with skills as far ranging as market demand modeling, ROI analysis, competitive risk assessments and scenario planning.
  • Ability to integrate market opportunities, competitive trends, organizational state and other points of interest into a coherent vision for change, development, and growth
  • Superb diplomacy skills, ability to use appropriate levers to persuade others to take action and to strive to find solutions that meet the mutual needs of all parties and the company as a whole.

     ; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience/Knowledge in the following areas preferred/beneficial:

  • Travel & Resort Industry, Entertainment &/or Theme Park experience
  • Financial Pro-forma, forecasting, and business case development
  • Consumer Research
  • Competitive and market analysis

Leads projects and makes recommendations with significant and far-ranging impact on the performance of the business in both the short- and long-term as well as requiring significant financial and resource investments.  Serves as a key consensus builder and collaborator within sales and marketing with regard to market and customer-based growth, process and development opportunities and challenges.
