Looking for a challenge? Our Entertainment Technicians work on the most technologically advanced live shows in the world. Using your problem solving and technical skills you would work with many different pyrotechnic systems to put on a spectacular one of a kind experience

Technician IV, Pyro/Flame Effects: As Tech IV with your established knowledge and skills, this role you will start your career in the Entertainment Tech Department. Here is your place to learn and grow. You will gain more technical knowledge to successfully operate an assigned Entertainment venue, project or event to help run quality shows and create positive guest experience.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Responsible to assist with the use and operation of the special effects equipment within the assigned venue, project or event.
  • Responsible for the appropriate installation and maintenance of special effects equipment.
  • Accountable for assisting in maintaining venue or event specific inventory of all Technical equipment. Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe use and operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices within the assigned venue or event.

Technician III, Pyro/Flame Effects: The Tech III Pyro/Flame Effects serves as a technical point person. Dedicated to specialized projects dealing with special effects, special events such as Mardi Gras during the Summer and Halloween Horror Nights. You will work more independently while still being part of the Pyrotechnic team at your venue, project or event.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Responsible to assist with the operation and use of pyrotechnic and/or flame effects equipment including but not limited to the operation and use of equipment/elements in a live show situation. Train and instruct other technicians in the proper set up, use and maintenance of equipment and procedures. Communicate/resolve technical problems with Entertainment management, Ride & Show and Tech Services. Process work orders, purchase requisitions and inventory systems as directed by chain of command.
  • Responsible for the appropriate installation and maintenance of equipment. Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe use and operation of all technical equipment within the assigned venue or event.
  • Accountable for assisting in maintaining venue or event specific inventory of all Technical equipment and consumables.

Technician II, Pyro/Flame Effects: In the Tech II role you are responsible for your venue, project or event to ensure show quality. Working more independently your responsibility includes technical operations of pyro/flame effects at your assigned location, providing the breathtaking moments the guests will never forget.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Functions as the discipline specific crew chief assigned to an Entertainment Venue or Event. Responsible for monitoring, adhering to and enforcing all policies and procedures as defined by the Entertainment Department governing the safe use and operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices.
  • Expected to accomplish tasks as directed by Lead/Supervisor that supports the team mission with little supervision after direction is given. Safe watch employees by assisting to manage proper breaks and ensure lunches are taken by their perspective crews.
  • Assists Technician I with daily maintenance of the Entertainment Venue/Event in order to ensure all Technical equipment is operational and functioning properly.
  • Assists the Technician I in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment Management
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to both upper management as well as employees of the venue/event.

Technician IV, Special Effects: As Tech IV with your established knowledge and skills, this role you will start your career in the Entertainment Tech Department. Here is your place to learn and grow. You will gain more technical knowledge to successfully operate the special effects to give guests ‘oooh and awe’ moments.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Responsible to assist with the use and operation of the special effects equipment within the assigned venue, project or event.
  • Responsible for the appropriate installation and maintenance of special effects equipment.
  • Accountable for assisting in maintaining venue or event specific inventory of all Technical equipment. Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe use and operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices within the assigned venue or event.

Technician II, Special Effects: In the Tech II role you are responsible for your venue, project or event at shows during events like Mardi Gras and Halloween Horror Nights. Working independently your responsibility includes technical operations of the special effects making visual spectacles of awe and amazement for guests.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Functions as the discipline specific crew chief assigned to an Entertainment Venue or Event. Responsible to monitor and enforce all policies and procedures as defined by the Entertainment Department governing the safe operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices. Safe watch employees by assisting to manage proper breaks and ensure lunches are taken by their perspective crews.
  • Expected to accomplish tasks as directed by Lead/Supervisor that supports the team mission with little supervision after direction is given. Facilitates and troubleshoots with accountability for completion of team objectives from Leads/Supervisor.
  • Assists Technician I with daily maintenance of the Entertainment Venue/Event in order to ensure all Technical equipment is operational and functioning properly.
  • Assists the Technician I in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment Management
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to both upper management as well as employees of the venue/event.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Positions in Pyrotechnics and Special Effects require:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and or move between 25 and 50 pounds
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions (select positions)
  • Maintaining a clean work environment with use of cleaning chemicals
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
