You are the center of excellence for Engineering Analytics and Decision Science, providing a competitive advantage through objective, cutting-edge solutions and collaborative approaches by applying business knowledge and advanced quantitative methods to the challenges across the organization worldwide. Our Data Scientist develops and implements innovative solutions to complex business problems and drives continuous process improvement and superior financial performance through advanced analytical approaches, balancing Team Member and Guest satisfaction in cooperation with our internal partners. The Data Scientist ensures that Revenue Management Analysts are equipped with effective decision making models to support and guide pricing decisions. This role combines human behavior with mathematical data to optimize Universal Orlando business decisions.


  • Formulate and apply advanced analytical approaches
    • Utilize mathematical optimization, stochastic process models, econometric methods and decision analysis to develop revenue management models.
    • Develop strategies to drive optimal pricing decision making and lead to incremental operating cash flow.
    • Troubleshoot forecast and optimization anomalies and develop testing to explain and/or reduce these anomalies.

  • Establish performance metric tracking and monitor performance
    • Validate and optimize revenue management system assumptions.
    • Test new products, adjust price and calculate demand sensitivity.
    • Make recommendations and implement changes to optimize profitability.

  • Provide weekly and annual pricing recommendations
    • Collaborate with product owners to refine pricing decisions.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to enhance visibility and transparency to the modeling and performance.


  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent is required. Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Experience with statistical modeling tools such as SAS, SPSS, or R required.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and ability to work through complex problems.
  • Familiar with visual analytic tools, such as Tableau, is a plus.
